Kenya Walker hails from Thomaston, a charming rural town in middle Georgia. She holds a bachelor's degree from Mercer University in Macon, Georgia, and furthered her academic journey with a master's degree from Central Michigan University's Atlanta campus. Currently, Kenya contributes her skills as a Transit Systems Planning Analyst at the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority. In this role, she lends her strategic expertise to the planning and implementation of research projects and initiatives, simultaneously overseeing significant departmental projects. Her focus is on optimizing budgetary resources, expanding partnerships, and refining operations to meet and exceed organizational objectives. Kenya has been an esteemed leader and employee at the authority for over three years.
Previously, Kenya dedicated fifteen years to Georgia State University as Business Manager II, where she managed and enhanced the daily operations of various campus departments. Her efforts significantly bolstered partnership engagement, strategic planning, and budgetary compliance. An adept professional in budget management, contract and grants management, facilities management, project management, and human resource recruitment, Kenya employs effective practices that promote collaboration, team engagement, and strategic success. These attributes contribute positively to her current role at Genesis Professional Counseling & Tutoring Services Foundation, Inc.
